Awards & Categories > Contribution to the UAE Society  
  This Award recognizes the company that can demonstrate that it adds value to the community in which it operates. It will have initiatives that benefit local businesses, employ and develop UAE nationals and carry out projects that benefit the community.  
Criteria No. Criteria Description Weightage
1 Undertake or participate in initiatives that make a genuine sustainable difference to the community / society 30%
Examples may include:
  • Social interactions and involvement, work with outside charitable institutes and hospitals etc.
  • Well-planned community programmes demonstrating direct involvement
2 Evidence of supporting social causes, environmentally–friendly policies, actions, schemes,projects, initiatives etc 20%
Examples may include:
  • Contribution to charity.
  • Sponsorships of humanitarian, social causes and events.
  • Internal initiatives to support the UAE society, culture and heritage.
  • Media clippings, newspaper reports, magazine features related to society benefit.
  • Newsletters, emails, posters put up on internal notice boards and externally through marketing department
    for social causes
3 Evidence of active contribution to local business community by sharing of best practices 30%
Examples may include:
  • Membership in local community groups and lecturing in local schools and community to spread knowledge,share information etc.
  • Publishing best practices.
  • Social interactions and involvement, work with outside charitable institutes and hospitals etc.
  • Active participation in industry-specific bodies and forums.
4 Sustained percentage increase in levels of Emiratisation 10%
Examples may include:
  • Trend in number of UAE nationals employed and turnover rates.
  • Participation in development programmes for UAE nationals.
  • HR KPIs- Number of UAE nationals employed in the company versus non-UAE nationals.
  • Emiratisation schemes and programme implementation strategy
5 Evidence to demonstrate initiatives geared to the positive career development/education of UAE nationals 10%
Examples may include:
  • Long term strategy and personal development plans for UAE nationals.
  • Summer programmes.
  • Training and development records for UAE nationals.
  • Educational scholarships and internships for UAE Nationals
