This Award recognizes the company that has a demonstrably strong HSE culture whereby health and safety are part of life, as well as the adoption of best practices to protect and enhance the environment within which it operates.

 
Criteria No. Criteria Description Weightage
1 Evidence of successful HSE practice across the organization 20%
Examples may include:
  • Demonstration of awareness or implementation of HSE policy in all company’s departments.
  • HSE audits and feedback from management and staff. Knowledge of the employees based on the HSE policies.
  • Fire drills being held and frequency of drills.
  • Safety notices, Staff training in fire and Safety (HSE).
  • Safe ways of working and adherence to regulatory safety practices.
2 Strong presence of a culture that encourages employees to think of ‘safety first’ in everything that they do 15%
Examples may include:
  • Specific examples and stories of how accidents were avoided.
  • Examples of any safety incidents, amount of certifications or courses given internally to train staff on this.
  • Commitment of management to safety.
3 Corporate initiatives to minimize the impact of its operations on the environment and a culture that encourages/promotes conservation of power and en 30%
Examples may include:
  • Documents on energy consumption achievements.
  • Initiatives based on the records of environmental issues.
  • Responsible waste management and minimizing hazard and general quantity.
  • Documented improvements in water management.
  • Conservation of utilities and natural resources etc.
4 Company that takes active steps to help employees achieve a healthy work-life balance 15%
Examples may include:
  • Encouragement of life balance through knowledge sharing on healthy eating practices and healthy lifestyle habits to help employees.
  • Flex-time policy, baby sitting facilities, fitness facilities, work from home facility etc.
  • Promotion of ‘no smoking’.
  • Regular health screening for employees. (excluding medical tests for visa stamping)
5 Evidence of training (fire drills, qualified First Aid givers, exit signs etc.) 20%
Examples may include:
  • Training schedule for fire drills, fire drill frequency, medical emergency drills etc.
  • Training records based on health and safety courses given.
  • Number of First Aid givers with valid certificate.
  • Number of First Aid boxes
